Your ABOUT page is all about letting people know your story. This is one of the quickest and best ways to build rapport with your (potential) fans, followers, clients and customers.
Here are some awesome ABOUT pages I’ve come across that you can use as inspo before writing – or re-writing – yours:
What do all of these have in common? All are true to their own style and whether big-time or small-fry, all four give us a true sense of who they are by what they say AND the way they say it!

Must-haves:
- A picture of you and/or your team – we want to see you!
- Make it your own style – be that 1st person or 3rd person, plain text or image/graphic heavy, quirky, bold, classic, simple, etc
- Testimonials/successes/achievements – even if it is just a list of places you worked, high-profile clients or industry-specific awards. But written testimonials from actual clients/customers are always encouraged
- Contact details and/or social media handles
Remember:
If you’re not good at putting who you are and what you do into writing, you could always consider using video to get your point across. Some people feel remarkably at ease in front of the camera. Plus, being able to use facial expressions and hand gestures will help you come across as more authentic.
“It doesn’t have to be perfect, just real.”
Great advice here! I’m always awful at writing about me pages because I don’t want to come off as contrived. But I really adore your idea about a video and can see this becoming a new project of mine soon!
I’m excited to see your video! 🙂
I agree it must be about me and believe I will be making one for myself soon

Really great advice will take a look at mine to see if it incorporates these points.
Thanks Nic x
Great advice! I find the about me part the hardest to be honest!
It really is the hardest part, I know. But also the most important. I also look at other bloggers’ About pages, don’t you? 🙂
Nice share Stacey. I’m preparing my blog now, but I keep reading ideas and making tweaks. Ugh. This is good advice and very straight forward. Thanks again. Take a look if you want. I’m open to feedback as well. Marsha. http://www.marshalynch.com
I also should have mentioned that the ABOUT should be a work in progress that we keep updating throughout our blogging journey. Thanks Marsha!
Thanks so much!
Some great advise here… I need to re-think my about page I’d say!!
Glad to help x
